Answer Key and Explanation:

1. [b] Abd Al-Muttalib, despite his advanced age, took charge of Muhammad ﷺ, and was very fond of the boy. Abd Al-Muttalib even let Muhammad ﷺ accompany him to the assemblies of the chiefs of Makkah, and it appeared that his special love for Abdullah had been transferred to his son.

2. [d] As Jibril vanished from sight, the Prophet ﷺ began trembling; and this state of fright increased when, descending from the mountains, he saw Jibril again – this time in his true angelic form, covering the entire horizon.

3. [d] It was important to keep the meeting a secret for fear of violence from the Quraysh. So, when one-third of the night had passed, the Muslim pilgrims quietly slipped out of their tents and made their way towards Mount Aqaba to meet the Prophet ﷺ.

4. [b] The Muslims did not use to have a standard flag. Hence, the colour of the flag would vary depending on the occasion. The white colour was chosen for the Battle of Badr.

5. [a] Around fifteen hundred Muslims, both men and women, accompanied the Prophet ﷺ during the journey. Among the women was the Prophet’s ﷺ wife, Umm Salama.
